Recently I wrote a piece on the Beaba Babycook. I received many enthusiastic emails and one reader recommended a similar product called the “Bebedelice” by French innovator Babymoov. The Babymoov product is super cute and functions similarly to the Beaba Babycook, with two exceptions: it sterilizes bottles, and warms bottles and food jars. Several weeks of research hoping to find out where this product could be purchased in North America was to no avail. I did however manage to locate a Canadian online distributor that sells limited Babymoov products. Those limited products just so happen to include a very innovative design that I really think is worth mentioning.
It’s called the ‘Lovenest’ by Babymoov. Designed to reduce ‘flat head’ medically known as positional plagiocephally. For those of you expecting, it’s a fairly common condition in babies aged 0 – 4 months. Since we now place our babies to sleep on their backs their soft skulls can easily develop a flat head deformity resulting from the pressure of their own weight. The Lovenest new born head support was created and patented by a French paediatrician for preventative measures. It is ergonomic, cupping baby’s head yet allows mobility, freely permitting baby’s head to turn from side to side and apparently quite comfortable as baby’s head lies naturally in the centre of dense contoured foam. The Lovenest is fairly small so you can take it with you and place it in your pram/stroller, baby’s bed, car and bouncy seat.
I must confess that I have not personally used this product, as my son is now four. He did experience flat head, not to the point of requiring the cranial re-shaping helmet - we were lucky that in his early months of babyhood he was happy to be repositioned on his side at nap/bed time with the assistance of a snugglenest eventually regaining his natural ‘round’ head shape. Since not having tested this product myself, as I do with all the products reviewed on Haute Mama, I cannot tell you if your baby will roll easily off the pillow. I welcome comments from anyone that has used it. I have to say having experienced ‘flat head’ with my son I am keen to try this product with subsequent babies to see if it will indeed prevent the condition.

If you happen to be traveling abroad to Europe or Australia try popping
into a baby store and picking up any Babymoov items you can feasibly
fit into your suitcase.
