Organic baby bedding and clothing are popular choices among environmentally mindful parents. And organic bamboo products are just one of the many eco-baby goods gaining popularity.
Bamboo has excellent wicking properties making it a perfect choice for people who have sensitive skin or are allergic to other fabrics. In addition to its ability to wick moisture away from the skin, organic bamboo fiber can kill odor-causing bacteria. Its often compared to cashmere because is it so soft and smooth. Clothing made from organic bamboo tends to be warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.
Recently my friend, Ky Smith, creator of Shinwa Organics introduced me to her fabulous collection of organic bamboo baby bedding, towels and wraps. The wonderful baby wraps are so strong, yet sumptuous - you could carry your little one sling style. The blankets feel luxuriously like cashmere, and the towels are so soft and absorbent you’ll wonder why you’ve been using terry cotton towels all these years. I had no idea bamboo was such a versatile fiber!
Shinwa Organics produce an entirely organic collection from fibers to the low impact natural dyes. I asked Ky Smith, co-creator of Shinwa Organics how she came up with the idea of launching an organic bamboo baby line. To follow this interview, please click the link here.
