Pomme Winter Party and Book Signing

Please join children's store Pomme tomorrow Saturday December 12th for a winter party dedicated to wild animals of all stripes!

To begin the Holiday season in roaring style, Pomme have invited two animal-loving artists: Award-winning photographer Andrew Zuckerman will be signing "Creature ABC", a stunning alphabet book displaying his famous high-res images of wildlife...... and Davina Zagury will unveil "Animals", her new series of still life pictures featuring close-ups of vintage plastic toys in natural decors.

Born in Washington, DC, in 1977, Andrew Zuckerman is a photographer and filmmaker. His work has been commissioned extensively for multiple brands throughout the world and has received many awards. He has published three photography books, including Creature, a portrait series of animals, which was released worldwide in November 2007 to critical acclaim and is now in its fourth printing.

…And Davina Zagury was born in Thailand, grew up in Israel, and now lives in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. First known for her pictures of salvaged old toys, she has collaborated with Pomme on several photography projects, including the highly successful "Doudou" and "Siblings" projects.

Nose Frida

It's official! I LOVE the Nose Frida. A few months back I wrote about this very unusual looking apparatus. Commenting on how I am doing just fine using a bulb aspirator. However, and this is a big however, my second baby absolutely cannot stand the bulb. She presently has a terrible cold and is suffering quite badly so I decided to invest in one of these Swedish snot suckers and see what all the enthusiasm is about.

I'm thrilled to report two things: Firstly, it works wonders. My baby finds it a lot less invasive than a bulb. It's also faster so you spend less time at their tiny nostrils trying to get the thick mucus out. Secondly, contrary to what you might think because of how it looks, you do not suck any phlegm into your mouth. There is a small sponge that acts as a filter preventing any snot from actually entering down the tube and in your mouth. The Nose Frida comes with two additional filters, and it very easy to clean.

I'm listing this as a Haute Mama Must Have item. This winter, if there's one thing to make your babies life a little easier during cold season, its a Nose Frida.
